QMP were managing information within Windows, sharing information on a central file store which resulted in an inability to share information effectively and duplication of document and contacts. The rules on the management of emails were negligible with everyone following their own procedure. QMP also recognised that of they were going to remain competitive they needed to change the way they worked and manage their information more intelligently. The practice conducted a cost benefit analysis and concluded that Workspace would pay for itself in just eight months time. Once the board saw the figures they were convinced.
Sharing of information in the business has been massively improved. People no longer have to ask people for information they need and can work from the satellite office and from home as if they were working in the office. Project visibility has transformed with RFIs and project milestones giving employees a much clearer view of the projects status.
The company's approach to managing emails has removed much of the risk that existed previously. Emails are dragged and dropped form Outlook to Workspace ensuring project critical emails can always be retrieved.
