Algo Design & Build is a design and build specialist, operating across agricultural, commercial, industrial and educational sectors. Established 30 years ago the business now has 75 members of staff, 15 of which are office based.
Algo Design & Build has recently made the decision to purchase Union Square for Construction as a solution to organising and improving the way documents are managed within the business. Office Manager Claire Birbeck explains some of the problems that led the organisation down this route: “Finding anything has become a nightmare. We store documents and emails in public folders but everyone has their own way of doing this. This makes finding things very difficult and often leads to duplication. We also have a multitude of spreadsheets that can easily become out of date if someone is not constantly updating them.”
Back in November 2011 Claire received an invitation to one of Union Square’s free seminars, where she was introduced to Union Square for Construction. The system is an integrated document management system designed specifically for the construction sector. It stores business information in one central, web-based repository against projects, organisations and contacts, delivering value through improved efficiency.
Impressed, Claire returned to the business and arranged for the Directors to see Union Square for themselves. “Tom came to see us and demonstrated how the system could address our specific business requirements. The Directors were instantly sold, particularly impressed with the drawing management functionality and the fact that the product is construction specific.” says Claire.
Algo Design and Build is gearing up for implementation over the next few months. Employees have been briefed and are looking forward to receiving the benefits Union Square will bring, namely; improved organisation, quick and easy document searching and instant access to live, accurate business information.
