The Workspace enterprise application provides a development framework upon which new and rich functionality can easily be added.
The system was designed from the "ground up” with the intention that it should not only be used out of the box as an enterprise application but, unlike other systems, you are welcome to create your own features and applications within the framework.
According to the task at hand a range of tools are available for the Workspace developer:
- For simple data entry and reporting the XML Forms and Advanced Search Framework provide individuals with limited development skills a mechanism for building simple applications.
- For individuals with more extensive development experience and wishing to have more control over the user interface, the extensive library of controls within the Workspace ASP.NET framework provide significant opportunities to accelerate development cycles.
This extensibility is accomplished without compromising the base functionality of the system and customisations are accommodated within the terms of the standard maintenance contract.
Local customisations are accommodated by our upgrade tools that automatically identify new versions of customised pages. This allows users to compare customised code with current and decide whether to continue with their current customisations or re-work based on the latest version of a page.
