The Workspace construction portal was conceived as both a company Intranet and as a company’s central information resource. So often and mistakenly these two objectives get separated.
Our vision remains to provide support for your staff in all their day to day activities, providing an essential resource in which information and knowledge can be found, processes supported and documents and information stored and archived. It doesn’t matter whether you are looking for a mobile number, an approved supplier, some key images for a presentation or the latest financial information in relation to a project, it can all be found in the portal. The different identities that Workspace customers adopt for their systems reflects just how important the system becomes and in what regard they hold them. See list of
system aliases for more.
Deployed as an Intranet (many customers describe Workspace as an "Intranet on steroids”) it becomes the first port of call for any piece of information. Companies with multiple offices benefit from the “virtualisation” of their company information as access to the company knowledge base is simultaneously both centralised and mobile. This enables your teams to work together whilst on the move and facilitates home working and access from site.
Workspace is also used as an Extranet with many organisations choosing to use Workspace to share documents with their partners and extend the use of the system as a Project Extranet. Some organisations entirely abandon their traditional use of Project Extranets in favour of using Workspace.
